Thursday, February 14, 2019, in Pontotoc County, MS. Around 330 pm two workers at the American Furniture Plant discovered a fire in one of the warehouses then another. Due to the intensity of the fires, weather conditions and only one fire hydrant made for some difficulty for firefighters. The blaze took around two and a half hours to put out. Backup tankers we called from Ingomar, West Union, and Southwest.
American Furniture stated no employees were injured in the fire. Further investigation led police to believe it was arson. This was the third fire to happen at this facility in 13 months.
