Wind down power lines

Today starting at around 11am, the remnants of Tropical Storm Ogla moved into our area bringing heavy rains and wind gust from 70 mph up to 90 mph. There were several trees blown down in our area causing power outages. New Albany Light Gas and Water had multiple sites that repairs were needed and by 5pm, most of the service area had power restored.

As of this evening, there were no reports that tornados in our area. The National Weather Service stated that the east side of the outer eyewall of the tropical storm is what brought the high winds to our area.

We thank all the local and area electric company personnel for the hard work and clean up they do on the part of all of us.
